Alongside the announcement of the Pokemon GO Dark Flames event on June 22, trainers quickly realised that a huge change had been implemented into the game with no announcement from Niantic.
Out of the blue, the wild spawn radius in Pokemon GO was extended, with the circle appearing significantly bigger for players. The community praised this increase as a massively positive quality-of-life update, but some trainers remained sceptical that the devs had added this on purpose.
It turns out they were right to be suspicious, as Niantic announced that the increase in spawn radius was an "unintended" bug and it has now reverted the change. This has sparked a huge amount of backlash from players, who are convinced the devs are trying to "kill the game."
