We've got our first look at Pokemon TCG's new Paradise Dragona cards, and while the set doesn't release in Japan until September 13, collectors are destined to shell out a small fortune to collect 'em all. As the seventh set released during the Scarlet & Violet era, Paradise Dragona (unsurprisingly) focuses on Dragon-type Pokemon

While some were disappointed by box art featuring a Stellar Tera-type Alolan Exeggutor, the Pokemon World Championships has turned opinions around with a peek at the first wave of Paradise Dragona cards. Dragons-type 'mon are front and centre of some glossy-looking cards you'll all want to own.

Latia and Latios are a highlight of Paradise Dragona

As reported by PokeBeach, the highlights are illustration rare Latias and Latios cards. Both feature artwork that connects them, meaning collectors will be rushing to get this elusive pair. Expect them to fetch a pretty penny on resale sites.

More than this, the cards boast some impressive stats, with Latios' Jet Headbutt dealing 110 damage and Skill Dive hitting both Benched and Active Pokemon. Latias' Eon Blade deals an even beefier 200 damage but stops it from attacking on the next turn. There's also Skyline Ability, which lets Basic Pokemon flee battle without a Retreat Cost.

The set has been a huge hit online, with fans even claiming they'll come out of collecting retirement to nab Latios and Latias. One cheered, "Not even a fan of these from Gen 3 but these cards go hard and will be mine," while another added, "That is how you get Pokémon fans to get excited 🐲."

A third said, "Good thing we'll have these! Now I don't have to sell my kidney for the Team Up alt art since I can get these instead," and someone else concluded, "Getting out of collecting retirement with this set." Despite some disappointment that only Latias is SAR (textured), we're sure you'll get over it.

These cards are expected to be released in English as part of November's Surging Sparks set, although we're yet to get confirmation. September 13 is a big day for Pokefans, and with it being the same day that the Stellar Crown expansion is being released, we're already dreading the hit our wallets are going to take.
