OpTic Texas' season sizzled out to quite a disappointing end, considering that they were destined to become another dynasty team after blitzing through Major I, which ended up being their one and only highlight of the season.
The Green Wall has had its problems though. An injury to shot-caller Indervir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal saw the roster enter turmoil, with an array of uncertainty about his return leading to OpTic's progression stalling.
Even Seth "Scump" Abner admitted that this was the hardest year of his career, given the interruptions. But after some comments from fellow opposition that OpTic is the most 'overrated' team in the league, Head Coach Raymond "RamboRay" Lussier has branded their critiques as "brain dead".
Rambo Ray Rubbishes 'Brain Dead' Critiques
It was Los Angeles Thieves who came out on top as the Call of Duty League 2022 world champions, and their flex main Zack "Drazah" Jordan was causing quite a commotion. Whether it was his girlfriend calling out enemy positions, beefing with Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris and Chris "Simp" Lehr on-stage, or branding OpTic as overrated, nobody was safe from his wrath.
But RamboRay has disagreed, and even though Drazah won a ring, the OpTic Head Coach has claimed that anyone thinking OpTic was overrated is "brain dead".
"You're going to talk about a team who didn't even have a full roster for two and a half months, half the year, that's just f**king braindead in my opinion."
RamboRay Details Why Lack of Preparation Was OpTic's Downfall
"We were literally two and a half months behind on everyone else in terms of practice," RamboRay said. "Obviously, we tried to salvage as much as we could. But if you asked me eye to eye if we were well-prepared heading into Champs, dude, I’d be stupid to tell you yes," he added.
"We did everything we could in the time we had with Illey back to try to reach the success we had earlier in the game, but it was not realistic to do that with 2-3 weeks in practice. All the other teams had their entire rosters from start to finish."
OpTic's roster has now all gone on separate vacations to recover from the taxing season, although it's not yet clear as to whether they will look to dip their toes into the rostermania pool yet.
