Rumours of the return of Red Dead Redemption have been swirling for some time now - hell, they hardly let up when the critically acclaimed sequel rolled around.
The franchise comes courtesy of Rockstar Games and has always been a champion of quality in the gaming industry, especially when it comes to letting players run wild in the wild, wild, West.
Players have wondered when we could see its sprawling narrative again, and maybe even if we'll get a remastered edition of the games we know and love. Now, we finally have the answers we've been looking for.
Red Dead Redemption is coming to Switch (and PS4)
In a surprise announcement, it has been revealed that Rockstar's classic Red Dead Redemption is making its debut on the Nintendo Switch.
The game has been confirmed in a tweet from Nintendo itself, which announced that the cowboy caper and its zombie-blasting Undead Nightmare DLC will be arriving on the Switch. The announcement has also promised that the game is coming to PS4.
When is Red Dead Redemption coming to Switch?
The tweet revealed that the game is set to debut on the console on August 17, meaning that we only have a couple of weeks to wait before the classic arrives on the portable console and last-gen PlayStations.
Alongside this will be a physical release of the game, which will be arriving on October 13. Now all we need is that rumoured remaster, and we'll be all set.
