A tweet from a Remedy developer has confirmed that Control 2 will be following the recent release of Alan Wake 2.

The first Control game was very well received, and fans are excited to see how the Remedy Connected Universe could expand in the future.

A Remedy dev has confirmed that Control 2 will follow Alan Wake 2

Senior Gameplay Designer at Remedy Entertainment, Leonid Stepanov, took to Twitter to share what project he would be working on after Alan Wake 2.

He said: “Creation of Alan Wake 2 was an incredible journey and an experience to remember! But it's time for a new one.

“Share with you that now I am taking part in the development of CONTROL 2.”

While it wasn’t a secret that Control 2 was in the works, the tweet more or less confirms that it will follow Alan Wake 2, and suggests that the game is entering a stage of active development.

Control 2 will likely be in the proof-of-concept stage for a while longer

In a post shared on Remedy’s website on 31 October, it was announced that Control 2 is currently in the proof-of-concept stage.

The post said: “Control 2 continues in the proof-of-concept stage. The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build.

“We will continue at this stage for the next few quarters. We focus on proving the identified key elements before moving to the next stage and scaling up the team.”

Based on the post, it seems like Control 2 will be in this stage of development for a while.

There is no indication of when the game could be released, but it is reassuring to see that people like Stepanov who have worked on Alan Wake 2 and are familiar with the Connected Universe are on the development team.
