Here we go! After years of honing itself to become one of PC gaming’s biggest and greatest shooter titles, VALORANT is finally expanding itself to Console.

Released in 2020, VALORANT has become a world-renowned title and one of the biggest esports in the industry, taking the core 5v5 Search and Destroy head-clicking design of Counter-Strike and filling it with unique abilities to add signature flair.

Now, VALORANT is officially coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Riot Games has revealed at Summer Games Fest that VALORANT is set to come to the latest generation of consoles.

The developers have adapted a range of mechanics to suit the controller input, such as a “Focus” feature, and adapted agent abilities.

The console variant will not be crossplay with PC to maintain “VALORANT’s standard for competitive integrity,” but while the console version will be standalone, there will be a few further changes that derive from the core game.

“We were adamant that VALORANT’s core, competitive gameplay must feel natural on a controller; and - if we couldn’t deliver on that gameplay promise - we had to be prepared to walk away from it. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will have the final say,” said Arnar Gylfason, Production Director of VALORANT at Riot Games.

The Beta will initially be rolled out in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan, although other regions may be activated shortly after.
