This has been years in the making, with made-up leaks and reveals, fake video game covers and false details to bolster it. But it looks like the wait (you know the one we're talking about) could soon finally be over.
In perhaps the most shocking report that the internet has had since GTA VI’s gameplay was leaked, it has been reported by a very reputable publication that Rockstar Games is gearing up to reveal GTA VI this very week.
Bloomberg reports GTA VI reveal is coming this week
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has reported that there are internal plans at Rockstar and Take-Two Entertainment to reveal the immensely anticipated GTA VI “as early as this week,” according to sources.
It’s said that the team will be dropping some kind of announcement (perhaps akin to the reveal that the team was working on the game simply bolted onto the end of a nonchalant blog post) this week, as revealed by a team member who didn’t wish to be named.
We’ve seen similar reports before, but from Bloomberg’s Schreier, this is as close to a confirmation as we’re ever going to get. It looks like it might actually be coming, and in the wake of literal years of leaks, it’s a true treat.
It doesn’t end there, though.
GTA VI trailer reportedly coming next month
On top of this, it is thought that the very first trailer for the game will be coming next month in December as part of a celebration of Rockstar’s 25th anniversary. It’s a fitting time to drop the reveal of the game, especially as it’s thought to be perhaps the most anticipated game in video game history. GTA V sold over 185 million copies over three video game console generations, so if any game ever plans on beating that career-high, there's little doubt that it's going to be GTA VI.
This is huge news, and with Bloomberg at the helm of it all, it all feels very real. It looks like it’s finally happening.
