Rogue Company severs ties with Dr Disrespect and fans aren't happy

Rogue Company has just severed ties with Herschel Beahm IV, aka Dr Disrespect, but its silence has potentially already driven players away.

Remember Rogue Company? What a blast from the past that is. Despite only being about four years old, it failed to gain the momentum it needed to be a long-life live-service game, meaning its sell-by-date is accused of having expired.

The Rainbow Six-VALORANT-CoD hybrid is still knocking around, though, as a steady yet small group of players are continuing to drop out of the ship round after round, game after game. That is until Rogue Company's now-severed relationship with Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm has just seemingly sealed its fate.

Rogue Company cuts ties with Dr Disrespect

Rogue Company had a firm handshake with Dr Disrespect, including a whole map based on his Champions Club, which Beahm designed himself. Dr Disrespect's recent scandal, which involved admitting to messaging a minor a Twitchcon, has left First Watch Games and Hi-Rez studios in a spot of bother.

Just like his own Midnight Society (Deadrop) and NBA 2K24 did, Rogue Company has severed all ties with Dr Disrespect, removing his map, character, and all cosmetics from the game. However, this has left some fans rather upset, as the $40 worth of customisation features have been deleted from the game with no return.

Taking to social media, players vented their frustrations that Rogue Company hadn't recompensated players immediately.

The skin and every other part of his bundle were deleted on July 5, leaving players in the dark until July 7, when Rogue Company announced that Rogue Buck refunds would be issued. "We will provide full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week," the devs stated on Twitter.

But it might be too late.  "I immediately uninstalled once I realized the skin was gone," the above player added, showing that players who remained on Rogue Company might have already left before the game missed its refunds.

Those who have stopped playing now want physical refunds, too, as Rogue Bucks have become redundant currency for many. "Bro said rogue bucks I'm crying," said one critic, while another added, "How about you refund us with f**king money," in a popular comment.

It's the same debacle that players had when Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff was axed from Call of Duty, but for Rogue Company, there might be no coming back.
