A new game means more "all" in "gotta catch 'em all"... right? So you'd think. Well, it seems that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet might not be costing you as much in pokeballs as you may have thought.

Pokemon fans became increasingly excited about the next chapter in Nintendo's ever-expanding universe, especially following a recent array of regional trailers.

With an eager opportunity to uncover more about the first-ever Pokemon open-world RPG, fans around the world tuned in to their respective regional channels, all premiering the Scarlet and Violet "Jump into a Paldean Journey" trailer. One set of fans was even spoiled with five new 'mons lingering in the background. However, they've now been mysteriously deleted.

Why Are The Scarlet and Violet Trailers Removing Pokemon?

The first trailers to be spun out made an instant impact with hardcore Pokemon stans, as five new beasties blended into the background, including one which appeared to be an Armarouge/Ceruledge pre-evolution.

With the trailer releasing in other regions shortly after, it now appears that they've all snuck back into the long grass to not be seen again. Fans have instantly started to speculate whether this was intentional by Nintendo, or whether they will even be in the game at all.

Posting on twitter, @AustinJohnPlays found that the parrot-like creature that was leaked was joined by an intriguing Girafarig evolution in being removed from later trailers. It's sparked a debate within the community.

Nintendo Appears To Delete Five New Pokemon From Scarlet And Violet Trailer

Some community figures have agreed that the later trailers in the United States and the UK were quickly edited to cut out the new Pokemon. Evidence found by streamers and Pokemon know-it-alls has found that the later-released versions are much "choppier" than the smooth original video.

Basically, you don't need to be Detective Pikachu to guess they might've been captured on an earlier build of Scarlet and Violet before the newbies were added. The likes of sweetling LeChonk will still be coming to Scarlet and Violet, but it seems a coy decision for Nintendo to go through the effort of removing these Pokemon after the rabbit had left the hat.
