Having already secured silverware in his rookie year, Thomas "Scrappy" Ernst is continuing to show the world why he might just be the greatest breakout talent ever, as he's now set a Call of Duty League record.

The smack-talking dynamite Assault Rifle player has begun to take the world by storm in his official breakthrough year (discluding the one series he played as a substitute last year) by becoming the Major 3 MVP, having stepped up from the Challengers scene for this season.

But now, his reign of terror is reaching new levels, even if his team isn't quite keeping up. Now, Scrappy has broken the kill record for the CDL 2023 season.

Scrappy sets CDL 2023 single-match kill record

During Toronto Ultra's most recent series against LA Thieves, the 20-year-old phenom broke the record for the most kills in a single match, while operating on Al Bagra Fortress.

Despite actually losing the Hardpoint match 250-244, Scrappy amassed a whopping league-high 43 kills, which was also accompanied by another 35 from his teammate Jamie "Insight" Craven

The 43 kills set by Scrappy just notches in front of the previous record. This was held at 42 and set by LA Guerrillas million-pound man Alec "Arcitys" Sanderson.

Kenny sets unfortunate CDL 2023 death record

To no surprise, getting kills means players have to die quite often, and with Scrappy gathering quite the impressive body count, it's also meant that one player, was more target practice than anyone else.

Kenny "Kenny" Williams also set the highest death record of the season with 42 deaths and only 18 kills, which comes off the back of the LA Thieves' Major IV championship success.

Toronto Ultra and the hotshot Scrappy did lose the match, but not the war, as they ended up winning the next three matches in the series to take home the 3-1 win, with the kill-leader also putting up another dynamic Hardpoint performance in the decisive Game 4.
