There's a huge hole in the Call of Duty League this season, as many of the league's veterans have decided to step away and call it quits.

Both Ian "Crimsix" Porter and Seth "Scump" Abner bowed out of competitive Call of Duty early on in the Modern Warfare 2 era, with the former heading to F1 sim racing and the latter becoming a staple of the content creation space.

However, as Damon "Karma" Barlow reenters OpTic Texas as Head Coach, he could be reunited with another dynasty legend. Scump has teased a return to playing amid OpTic's underwhelming climax to the season.

Scump teases un-retirement for Modern Warfare 3

With OpTic Texas bowing out of the World Championships in 5th-6th place, there looms a lot of questions about what direction they will take the roster going into the off-season and rostermania.

Will they run it back? Or will they blow it up? With so much uncertainty, Scump has now hinted that he's making a comeback too.

Speaking on stream, Scump was discussing which players will be moving and to where, Scump said, "And then you need to take into consideration that I'll be coming back. Where do I fit into the equation?"

Is Scump un-retiring for Modern Warfare 3?

It's most likely that Scump was joking about his un-retirement, but he has long said that if the game that is being played is "great" then he would consider coming back, and given that Modern Warfare 3 (the original) is his favourite game of all time, the upcoming like-named title could be his ticket back into competitive Call of Duty.

A handful of other players also jumped on this joke, with Dillon "Attach" Price taking to Twitter to tempt Scump's watch party partner Anthony "Methodz" Zinni out of retirement too by claiming, "Your duo is coming back so you might as well play next year too."

This comes just after James "Clayster" Eubanks said that he will not be retiring this year too, proving age is nothing but a number. Scump's return would be quite the surprise for OpTic though, and given their recent pursuit of Amer "Pred" Zulbeari, the King might actually be rather far down the pecking order now.
