With the Call of Duty League season over for this year - or at least for the Modern Warfare 2 era - rosters have collapsed and we're beginning to see one of the busiest rostermania periods ever.

Even world champions New York Subliners have opted to make a change, leaving every roster in the league to be scrambling for players.

One of these is Seattle Surge, whose entire roster from last season has left. Now, with the emergence of their leaked roster, fans have been blessed with one of the most bizarre combinations of players yet.

Seattle Surge’s 2024 roster leaks emerge

According to reputable journalist Jacob Hale, Seattle Surge is set to reunite the former Dallas Empire and OpTic Texas duo of Inder "iLLeY" Dhaliwal and Cuyler "Huke" Garland for the 2024 season.

The 2020 World Champions will reportedly be joined by two-time ring winner Alec "Arcitys" Sanderson, adding more title-winning know-how to the team.

Rounding it off is supposed to be Challengers prodigy Jordan "Abuzah" François, but Surge fans have already noticed one large flaw in the team, in that there are three Assault Rifle mains and only one SMG.

Seattle Surge fans point out glaring problems in leaked roster

Abuzah comes in as one of the hottest AR players on the market, but if reports are to be believed, he will likely be the player who has to play on an SMG in his breakout season, with iLLeY likely to be IGL in the flex role.

The only alternative would be to see Arctic’s take up an SMG, as he did express this last season in a bid to shake up Los Angeles Guerrillas’ bad fortune.

"Wait Abuzah is an AR?? Chalk it the f**k up," one fan said on Twitter though, pointing out the team's glaringly obvious problem.

Another added, "If Abuzah is as good on the SMG as he is the AR this team has top 6 potential. If he’s not, I don't know how I feel."

"Picking up one of the more talented AR players in recent Call of Duty Challengers history only to put them on a sub is... a choice," a third fan said.

With so many SMG players on the market, it does beg the question as to why Surge is favoring this AR-heavy team, even if they do boast high-quality players.

Hopefully this isn’t the same shade of 2019 Surge creeping back in.
