I've played so much Call of Duty that I see it in my dreams. I see it when I close my eyes. When my life flashes before my eyes, all I see is Shipment.

The iconic four-by-four map has been a staple of the Call of Duty franchise for years, surpassing the likes of Rust as the series' most-played map ever (probably).

But after already rotting brains in Modern Warfare 3, the Shipment map is actually being replaced, with the core design as we know it being permanently removed.

Shipment permanently replaced by Shipmas in Modern Warfare 3

"By popular demand", Shipment is being replaced by its Christmas-themed variant Shipmas in Modern Warfare 3 for the rest of the game's tenure.

The holiday-decorated reskin of the map will be added to the rotation for the rest of the year, featuring in all of the usual multiplayer playlists, including its own 24/7 mode in certain weeks.

Other map reskins will also be available in Modern Warfare 3 via the Season 2 Reloaded update, with Vortex-inspired makeovers to Terminal (Airborne) and Skidrow (Skidgrow).

The latter of these has already been praised by fans too, as the fungal map has shifted the weather to sun, rather than the bleak mid-winter vibe of its original map, leaving players also hoping that Skidgrow becomes permanent too.

Dome to be introduced to Modern Warfare 3

Alongside these reskinned maps, Modern Warfare 2's remaster of Dome will also become available in all MW3 multiplayer playlists too, having only ever been available in the throwback playlist.

Having only been added to MW2 towards the end of its life, Dome will get another shot at being a successful small map in MW3, joining a catalogue of similarly designed playgrounds where the action is non-stop.

Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded has really spruced the multiplayer side of things again, bringing light to a rather dark and dismal set of maps, which will likely be quite the hit with fans.
