Aim assist is the most divisive feature in Call of Duty, with the controller-only system being at an all-time high in Modern Warfare 2.

This year especially, players have found that rotational AA is almost aiming automatically, akin to aimbot. But if you were hoping to have this type of helping hand when shooting in Modern Warfare 3, you might be about to be rather upset.

Shotzzy claims Modern Warfare 3 has nerfed Aim Assist

Amongst the star-studded cast was Call of Duty League professional Anthony "Shotzzy" Cuevas Castro, and as arguably the most skilled player in the world, he's already been getting to grips with the ins and outs of the title.

Interestingly, Shotzzy has already found a 'meta' perk system, including movement-enhancing boots, which helps against "not as sticky aim assist" in Modern Warfare 3.

When asked for his verdict on the game at CoD Next, Shotzzy said on stream, "[It is] smoother than any other CoD Game I played. There are sneakers that can make you slide and ADS, [which] seems meta... Aim assist is not as sticky as other games."

Aim assist has often been the topic of discussion in recent weeks and months, with players saying the feature is stronger than ever before and needs to be dialled back.

MW3 'actually takes skill' claims Shotzzy

Known in the competitive community as the "movement king", Shotzzy has already been seen "breaking ankles" in the Modern Warfare 3 showcase, but he's also claimed that it takes much more accuracy than usual to succeed.

"I think we're back brother, aim assist actually takes skill. Aim assist feels hella good, it didn't feel as OP as every other CoD has felt. No bulls**t. I'm being dead serious."

The movement for Modern Warfare 3 has been widely praised already, with slide cancelling being back, which will make being an assault rifle main quite tricky if aim assist is being toned down. Maybe this is the first Call of Duty in a generation where SMGs will reign supreme.
