After a dormant decade, the Silent Hill franchise is back up and running, as the horror game series is set to see a ninth main instalment coming in the next few months/years.
But if that wasn't enough - and just in case the "f" in Silent Hill f actually stands for flop or flipping dreadful, a remaster of the timeless classic Silent Hill 2 is on its way too.
Why stop there, though? Now that we've seen a breadth of new consoles arrive, there's got to be room for more remasters. Well, the developers agree and are now teasing that it might not be just Silent Hill 2 that gets a current-gen makeover.
Bloober Team CEO teases more Silent Hill remasters
Although the Silent Hill franchise lies under Konami's control, a multitude of developing studios have all pitched in to create different instalments over the years. Bloober Team is in charge of bringing the 2001 title back to life.
However, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno has now teased that the team could also be in the running to remaster more Silent Hill games after he told IGN "I'm not going to say never."
Hyping the upcoming remake, Babieno said, "We still would like to make meaningful games, we still would like to keep our DNA to tell [stories] about things which are important to us.
"However, not by environmental storytelling, but by full action, to have much more mass appeal. And I think that this is the reason why we have chosen Silent Hill."
Bloober Team CEO pleads to fans to 'give Konami time' to revive Silent Hill
Many critics of the Silent Hill franchise have often spoken out against Konami and the direction it led the horror title down - or rather didn't because it let it languish.
However, with Konami finally reviving the franchise, Babieno has pleaded with fans to "give them time" while the publisher develops the next two games and figures out what comes next.
"I do understand that people are a little bit angry at Konami for the stuff which happened in the past, but I would like to say, give them the time, because they do know what they are doing," he told IGN.
For the meantime, though, the Bloober gang is "fully focused" on the Silent Hill 2 remake, hoping that they can capture the nostalgic essence and pair it with a new feel and electrifying horror.
