Grab your armbands, rubber dinghies, and inflatable Nessies out, a pool of sweat is set to emerge in Apex Legends as the try-hard haven that is Skull Town is set to return, in some capacity, to Kings Canyon.
The epicentre of warfare on the OG Kings Canyon map was once the be-all and end-all of the battle royale title, before the ages of Olympus and Worlds Edge. But with the demolition job from Loba in Season 6, we've been without Skull Town in the battle royale maps for almost two years. Until now.
Skull Town Set To Return To Kings Canyon In Apex Legends Season 12
As Mad Maggie runs the show in Season 12, fans are already looking at what's next for Apex Legends, especially with leaks emerging revealing seasons' worth of content. Whether it be a much-anticipated new weapon, a brand-spanking-new map, or even the return of the popular LTM Control as a permanent fixture, Apex Legends lovers are itching to have their appetite whetted.
The return of Skull Town to Arenas was enough to plug a hole in the thirst of the eager beavers, however, longtime players of Apex Legends have yearned for Skull Town to be revisited in the battle royale mode, and now it seems Respawn Entertainment will salvage the POI.
According to a fresh leak, Kings Canyon will have a new landing spot named "Salvage" which is set to be a working remake of Skull Town, as the Outlands' builders have salvaged what they could of the structures.
Salvage has altered the layout of Skull Town though, as the leaker shows. The four-laned design is now more of a single straight with individual buildings on the surrounding areas, meaning you're more likely to be butting heads with opponents than juking them into a deathbox.
Apex Legends Season 13 Kings Canyon Changes
Alongside the addition of Salvage, Apex Legends Season 13 is expected to make some more changes to Kings Canyon, as the original map continues to struggle for popularity compared to the newer landscapes.
Another popular landing spot and stronghold of the map, The Cage, will also get a much-needed shake-up. Sorry roof-top campers, but your sniper's nest has been chopped down, as Respawn look set to remove the top three flights of The Cage, leaving just the bottom two stories.
If the changes to Skull Town still don't quench your nostalgic thirst, then Arenas is your only option, but Respawn Entertainment has moved on, and maybe, this is a nice touch to the past that is being left behind.
