You'd best start warming up those vocal cords because someone just added a tonne of new shouts to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. 11 years after Bethesda first released the fantasy favourite, the Skyrim community is still alive and well thanks to modding. Well, it gives us something to do until The Elder Scrolls 6 is eventually released.
Of course, those that think of themselves as something of a Dragonborn will know the Dragon language of shouting is known as Thu'um. We've all heard of "Fus Ro Dah", but it doesn't stop there. From summoning beasts of the wild to dragons themselves, shouting is a key part of the franchise's lore. So, do you fancy learning some more?
What Are The New Shouts In Skyrim?
Over on Nexus Mods, Keysmash2b's Thoom LE mod adds a whopping 19 new shouts to Skyrim. Remembering that Skyrim originally had 20 shouts, Dawnguard added three more, and Dragonborn another four, someone putting 19 new ones in there is a lot!
On the roster this time, there are the likes of Du Kun Shaan (the ability to use the power of the Moon), Slen Tiid Vo (resurrect a dragon), and the gross Strun Pook Liiv that rains bile from the sky. The full list has some spoilers, so you've been warned.
Impressively, the mod has taken into account the past 28 years of The Elder Scrolls, with some of the shouts even tying to the ever-expanding world of The Elder Scrolls Online. In case you needed more weapons in your arsenal, this plethora of new shouts could keep you busy for a while. Remember, you can also shout the wings off a butterfly.
How Do You Use The New Skyrim Shouts?
It's not as simple as just booting up the Skyrim shout mod and bellowing your way around Tamriel. We wish you could just yell out Sul Vul Vu and change day to night, but instead, the mod has littered the 19 shouts in word walls around the map. If you want to take out the leg work, the mod has a key to where all these word walls are.
There is a myriad of shouts to learn, while the games had already proved there are others out there. We've seen Miraak shout Zii Los Dii Du to absorb the souls of dragons - as an aside, it's the only four-word shout in Skyrim lore. However, with news that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in pre-production, mods might be the only way to enjoy new shouts for a while.
