Somehow, Starfield is already being review bombed

Despite the hype surrounding Bethesda's Starfield, the game has somehow already picked up a negative review on Metacritic.

Starfield has won over leagues of sceptical fans with its recent showcase from Bethesda and Xbox, and while there are still some who aren't entirely convinced that Bethesda can pull off a game of such dramatic ambition, most fans are convinced.

Still, some aren't so sure Starfield is going to work. And one of those people has already taken to Metacritic to air their complaints, without having any means of playing the game. It makes about as much sense as you think it does.

Starfield has its first review - and it's a 0/10

Somehow, Starfield is already being review bombed

The first review of Starfield has appeared on Metacritic, and it's not a particularly nice one. Though it isn't listed on the game's page, as its reviews only count towards an audience score after the property launches thanks to misogynists bombing Captain Marvel, it's still a review nonetheless. It's still a pretty scathing one.

User Joppsta360 reveals their feelings on the game to be pretty hateful, and though there's no real proof that they've played Starfield (as not even critics appear to have been dished out copies of the game yet), it hasn't kept them from unleashing hell on it.

"Take a shot every time Todd Howard lies," reads the review. "Or don't you will be dead from alcohol poisoning 5 minutes into the 20+ minute masterpiece highlighting yet another Bethesda disasterpiece." Crikey.

Matt Booty claims that Starfield is Bethesda's least buggy game

Of course, the claims of this review are likely total nonsense, not only because the platform is pretty anonymous and would be incredibly easy to just lie about Starfield on, but also because Matt Booty has claimed that the game is Bethesda's least buggy title.

Speaking in an interview with Giant Bomb, the head of Microsoft Studios suggested that if Starfield were to launch that very moment, it would still have the least bugs on any Bethesda game on launch day.

It's a compelling claim that flies in the face of this incredibly negative review - but we're happy not to believe the anonymous user. Either way, as Starfield soars toward the top of Steam's Top Sellers chart, we doubt Bethesda is worried about one lone troll.
