Though The Sims gives players the toybox needed to create any kind of reality they want, the case with the game is often that they'll simply recreate alternate versions of their real lives. It gives them the chance to envision themselves getting the jobs they want, romance the Sims they want, and become a fully-fledged Jedi or Werewolf (if they want).

We've probably missed the boat on psychoanalysing why we do this, but to be honest, it's an intrinsic part of the game's DNA by now. And now, rather than replicating reality, players are starting to replicate television's idea of reality - recreating the villa from Love Island. And it's actually great.

Why Is The Love Island Villa In The Sims 4?

Twitter user Steph0Sims has shared her brand-new creation to the world as part of a new sponsorship with EA, and it's a total recreation of the famous villa from the overwhelmingly heterosexual reality TV show Love Island.

The design is immaculate and a perfect reflection of the Mallorcan villa, which is perfectly suited for a wealth of shredded British twenty-somethings to try to woo each other in.

The intricacies of the recreated villa are so focused, that according to Steph, the items on display can't be moved around without everything clipping through each other, meaning that the villa "might get weird" - but it's on her gallery page if you fancied joining the villa yourself.

The Sims Approve Of Recreated Love Island Villa

Apparently, it's not just fans who are impressed by the recreation of the Villa - it looks like The Sims themselves got a text telling them about it, too. "This is proper fit don't you agree @LoveIsland," the game's official Twitter account asks. Huge "how do you do, fellow kids" energy is radiating from this tweet, but we'll allow it.

What's next, a recreation of The Only Way Is Essex inside The Sims, or what about RuPaul's Drag Race? Of course, if it was actual Love Island, there would probably be more drama than we could actually manufacture in The Sims. Still, the Love Island villa is a great build, and it's definitely our type on paper. Now get in there and participate in increasingly horny challenges.
