It's that time of the year again, as we put the next Call of Duty in our crosshairs and watch Activision's first-person shooter dominate the charts. While it's safe to say Sledgehammer Games' Modern Warfare 3 has had something of a frosty reception, it's still poised to be one of 2023's biggest games.
Call of Duty games come out like clockwork around this time of year, but it's also the period when we start thinking about the dreaded C-word. Santa is a matter of weeks away, and with his imminent arrival, the Black Friday sales are already everywhere.
Sony slashes PS5 Slim price for Modern Warfare 3
Everyone is vying for your attention right now, with multiple sites offering the new PlayStation 5 Slim for a knockdown price. Best Buy is currently selling the PS5 Slim Modern Warfare bundle for a princely sum of $499.99. As the new-gen PS5 refresh RRP is $499.99, you're effectively getting the latest CoD for free.
For those in other territories, Amazon UK is also selling the bundle for the same price, costing just £449.99. If you're in the market for a PlayStation 5 or fancy splashing out for that special someone this Christmas, there couldn't be a better time to nab a bargain.
There's actually an even better deal, with the official Sony site having an introductory price for the MW3 (classic) PS5 bundle of £409.99. You'd better be quick because it's only available until November 23. The cheapest we've found is Argos, offering the original PS5 MW3 package for £399.99.
Microsoft has its own Call of Duty deal
If Call of Duty isn't your thing, Best Buy also has a Spider-Man 2 bundle, letting you swing across the New York City skyline as Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Be warned though, these deals are selling out by the minute, so you'd better act fast.
It wouldn't be a sale without the console wars heating up again. Microsoft also has a Call of Duty deal, coming just after the recent console price hike. On Amazon UK, you can grab the Xbox Series X and MW3 for £409.99. This means you're saving a whopping £140 if you were buying separately.
The festive season is sure to see a spike in console sales, and while no versions of the PS5 or Xbox Series can seemingly touch the sales of the Nintendo Switch, that won't stop Microsoft and Sony from trying to squeeze you for every penny.
