STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, but it won't hit its September 5 release date. GSC Game World has announced a delay, which will see the atmospheric shooter launching on November 20, 2024.

STALKER 2 release date pushed back

“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more 'unexpected anomalies' (or simply 'bugs', as you call them)," Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World, explained via a press release.

"We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding - it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself."

Thankfully, you don't have long to wait if you've been waiting for additional news on the sequel. The trailer above was released today, and GSC Game World will partner with Xbox to reveal a STALKER 2 Developer Deep Dive on August 12.

According to the press release, viewers can expect interviews, additional footage, and a full video walkthrough of a story quest, offering players a "full understanding of how the game plays and looks."

STALKER 2 has been delayed multiple times, with the Ukrainian developer relocating to Prague during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The title is expected to launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
