Big-name streamers like TimTheTatman are refusing to sweat it out in Modern Warfare 2 lobbies due to complaints over SBMM.

Modern Warfare 2 is here, and with it comes millions of players looking to learn the maps, guns, and gameplay to get an early advantage and 'pub-stomp' their way through lobbies. But with Call of Duty's notorious stance on SBMM, some streamers are snubbing it.

Skill-based matchmaking isn't going away, as many professionals and streamers found themselves facing each other in sweaty public matches during the beta - proving that the system is more powerful than ever before

And in a world where Modern Warfare 2 is being made to protect 'Sentinels' (*campers*), it's no surprise that some of the most talented players and streamers can't be bothered getting sweaty in public matches.

TimTheTatman Snubs MW2 Because of SBMM

Love or hate SBMM, it can serve as quite a curse without a ranked play. This is especially obvious if you're fragging out hard only to be rewarded with XP, which is why popular figures like Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar are ditching Modern Warfare 2 until the merger and release of Warzone 2.

"If SBMM wasn't a thing, i'd stream multiplayer," Tim said on stream. "SBMM is killing video games as a whole," he added.

"I am playing with gigasweats, with no rating, and then John John comes in with his binky in his mouth and is like 'you're a**', because I'm playing against players with a 1.5, 2, even 3 K/D, and he's playing against 0.2."

Modern Warfare 2 Reignites SBMM debate

Tim's outburst hasn't quite gone down a storm though, with many realising that the streamer isn't in the upper echelons of the skill pyramid, meaning SBMM is likely to do more help than damage to Tim's MW2 gameplay experience.

"The idea that SBMM is killing gaming is easily disproven when you glance at the most played games. They all have it. It without question 100% in almost all circumstances helps player retention," debated YouTube personality Shaun "Hutch" Hutchinson.

Well, for some, that's one less bot to farm, and for others, it's another super sweat to avoid. Maybe it's not the worst thing in the world that try-hard streamers are ditching MW2 this year.
