It's no surprise that we're getting some fresh collabs in Street Fighter. We're still waiting in anticipation for its crossover with Exoprimal, which is expected to bring exosuits to the fighting game, and Ryu and pals to the island in the dino-shooter in what's bound to be a deeply bizarre event.
It won't end there, as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to arrive in Street Fighter 6 in celebration of their most recent movie - but fans have a pretty major issue with the addition of Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael.
TMNT are way too expensive in Street Fighter 6
A collection of character costumes have appeared in Street Fighter 6's shop for each of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which would be nice in any other circumstance - but fans have pointed out that the prices for these costumes are extortionate.
Each costume comes in at a whopping 750 Fighter Coins, which is roughly $15. This means that if you want all four of the costumes (because why wouldn't you), you're going to have to shell out $60/£48. Brutal.
If you throw in the sticker sets, taunts, camera frames, and in-game wallpapers coming in at another 1300, it brings the grand total to just under $100/80. This is pretty egregious by any store's standards, leaving fighters confused as to why Street Fighter would go so far above the average to charge for such a crossover.
Fans react to absurdly expensive Turtles in Street Fighter
It's also been pointed out that in other video game appearances, the Turtles have been much cheaper. Injustice 2 offered them all for only $10, which is a pretty far cry from $15 per turtle.
Disgruntled taken to Twitter to express their disdain for such expensive costumes. One raged, "Overpriced skins why are these big companies so greedy, the base game cost = 4 skins in game," while another added, "One turtle costume cost $15. the price of a ticket to see the movie in theaters cost less than this."
It's a shame that the Turtles have been reduced to mere costume fodder, as well as being so truly expensive. Do better, be better, Capcom.
