Street Fighter 6 has finally been unleashed unto the world, and hoo boy, is it a treat.
Many have already suggested that this new fighting title could carry it all the way into the next decade when it comes to tournaments, and with the title receiving immense critical accolades, there's little doubt that this is a game that could last some time.
Helping that along is that it's simply damn good fun, with the snappy fighting controls and combos that we know and love, combined with the Shenmue-esque World Tour mode, that allows players to build their own fighter/ monstrosity and take on the world at large.
And as it turns out, Capcom has been leaving some Easter eggs for fans to discover in it. Who'd have thought?
Street Fighter 6 has an odd Resident Evil Easter egg
As fans have begun exploring Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode and punching every passer-by in Metro City, they've discovered that Capcom has been leaving references to their other franchise titles.
As first revealed to the Gaming subreddit by user mrbubbamac, speaking to the character Ryan in the mode will give players a new item - one that references the Resident Evil franchise.
The character will give the player a copy of Red Elevator 8, a game that Street Fighter describes as "the latest entry in the RE series of universally acclaimed horror games." The description caps it off with "Someone might like this…". Yeah. We would. Thanks.
Why wouldn't Street Fighter just name-drop Resident Evil?
Fans have been left wondering why Street Fighter wouldn't just take the opportunity to name-drop the franchise and make its characters simply dish out copies of Resident Evil: Village, but frankly, as this is just a joke, it doesn't much need to be.
It's a funny little cameo that goes with the rest of the tongue-in-cheek explorative mode anyway, so we've got no complaints. Just let us know if you find any copies of Mega-Guy and Monster Fighter.
