It'd be fair to say that Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League hasn't been a big success.

After Warner Bros said the game had "fallen short of expectations", Season 1 failed to pick up steam and fans are calling for its cancellation after the Season 2 reveal.

And yet, if you're looking to rip through the story and ignore the "games-as-a-service" side of things, Amazon's Prime Gaming has a treat to get you grinning like The Joker.

Amazon reveals new Prime Day free games

Amazon's Prime Gaming service offers up a bundle of PC games each month, and to celebrate Prime Day the retailer has added Kill The Justice League to its freebies.

As per the Prime Gaming blog, you'll only have 48 hours to claim it, so be ready to add it to your account at 3 am ET on July 16.

It's joined by Chivalry 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, too, both of which are well worth downloading if you haven't experienced them yet. All games are offered as Epic Game Store versions.

In our review of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, we said:

"Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, live service ambitions aside, is a fun shooter that feels like the closest you’ll get to a virtual DC Comics theme park; it looks great, and it’s full of recognisable characters."

"And, like a theme park, much of it feels hollow, designed by a committee for a focus group that may not even exist anymore to keep them engaged and coming back. Despite this, and like every time I've been to a theme park, I've come away feeling like I've had fun, as forgettable as the specifics may be."

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League might not have set the world alight, but maybe the Prime Gaming giveaway is the perfect way of enjoying a fun shooter game filled with some of your favourite comic book anti-heroes.
