It feels like a lifetime ago when Call of Duty fans were split between their favourite developers plainly on the basis of how snipers work.

Advocates of quickscoping and trick shots have fond memories of Modern Warfare 2 etched into their brains, while competitive spirits will die on the hill that Black Ops 2 was the best Call of Duty of all time.

As one of the most popular CoD players of all time, Kris "Swagg" Lamberson falls into the first category, and amid the re-launch of classic Call of Duty games, the FaZe Clan star has labelled BO2 as "mid" and taken a swipe at the old sniping mechanics.

Swagg claims Black Ops 2 was 'mid'

To many, this may hit a nerve, but after reinstalling Black Ops 2 on Xbox, Swagg has been left less than impressed by the old game.

Taking to Twitter, the streamer simply claimed "BO2 IS MID" and instead chose to hop on Infinity Ward games. To further poke the bear, Swagg added, "MW3 Clears" and also joked that the Bo2 faithful were a bit touchy.

Swagg hails FaZe Clan OGs after re-trying 'broken' CoD snipers

As a FaZe creator, its only natural that the side of the Call of Duty developer war that Swagg sits on is that of Infinity Ward, given that the Modern Warfare series is synonymous with quick-scoping and hitscan snipers which put FaZe on the map through montages.

However, Swagg has now hailed the Clan's OG members for their skill in sniping, taking to Twitter again in a now-deleted tweet to say, "I see why FaZe was so popular in 2011, sniping was BEYOND BROKEN."

The year in which Swagg referees was dominated by Black Ops 1 until Modern Warfare 3 was released, and both games aren't renowned for sniping, especially the former which deployed a different technique to zooming when using snipers.

This shifted the aim off-centre to try and combat quick-scoping - not to much avail though. Unfortunately for FaZe and Swagg, snipers have recently died out of gaming, and if you did want to re-live your old roots, the classic Modern Warfare 2 is your only hope now.
