It’s not uncommon for athletes to pop a bottle of alcohol following a championship win. Formula 1 fans will be no strangers to seeing a bottle of fizz being sprayed across the podium, and even footballing fanatics will be familiar with players taking a swig of refreshments from inside a trophy, almost like an unwritten tradition. However, esports players have yet to adopt these celebratory antics, no surprise considering the demographic being considerably younger.
Unless your name is Turner "Tfue" Tenney.
The ex-Fortnite professional rose to fame at the height of the battle royale craze, gathering a rather large following of that game's younger playerbase, although that didn’t stop him popping the lid off of an ice-cold Corona and swirling it down his neck before a strip club proposal was put to him following an Apex Legends Twitch Rivals championship win.

Tfue Wins Apex Legends Twitch Rivals
The Twitch Rivals events add a unique twist to competitive Apex Legends, ripping apart friendships by mixing content creators and professionals, with talents such as Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff, Eric "Snip3down" Wrona, and Lindsey "LuluLuvely" competing for the lions share of a $50k prize pool.
Mimicking the ALGS format where points and kills earn points to be collected over five heats of private lobby matches, making confrontations edgy and hilarious as former teammates and friends collide.
With one win, followed by two second-places and a fourth-placed finish, and a combined 34 kills (including 14 in the single match where they won), Team Tfue won the spoils. The trio of Tfue, William "SkittleCakes" August, and "Sloth" racked up 71 points overall, leaving themselves a whopping 23 points clear in first place, convincingly becoming the 2022 Apex Legends Twitch Rivals champions.
Tfue Celebrates Apex Legends Twitch Rivals in typical fashion
Having won $15,000 for becoming champions, Tfue, Sloth, and SkittleCakes were invited to a post-game interview, where the party had already started.
Just as the hosts looked to get into the nitty-gritty elements of the winning compositions, Tfue whipped open a bottle of his chosen beer and swirled it into a tornado - a technique of downing a drink that Tfue has made his own through a variety of TikTok videos and IRL streams.
Leaving the hosts in a fit of awkward giggling, the party had just gotten started for Tfue and co., as Sloth took to the mic to announce, "you can find me at the strip club after this one! We spending all this cash baby!"
Team Tfue’s antics had left the hosts just as speechless as the opponents in which they ram over in the Twitch Rivals event, typical of the streamers' nature. Maybe, we’ll see Tfue take to the ALGS now, where a bottle of champagne will have to be on standby.
