Fans of The Last of Us Part 2 have divided opinions over Abby’s character design, many preferring original concept art to the final design.

Fans of The Last of Us Part 2 have divided opinions over Abby’s character design, many preferring original concept art to the final design.
While some people prefer the more muscular design which made it to the completed game, others wish the concept art, which shows a more worn down version of Abby, had stuck.

The concept art from The Last of Us part 2 is not a new discovery and has been floating around on the internet for a few years now.
Despite this, it seems to pop up every now and then alongside discussions about the game and the characters within it.
The latest reason for Abby’s original concept art being brought up is the fight scene between Abby and Ellie, which left many fans rooting for the wrong character.
In response to a video of the fight, one Twitter user expressed that they felt Abby’s design was reminiscent of a cartoon character.
They said: “God the Abby gameplay looks hilarious. Way too big of a body plus tiny head moving like a cartoon character. Everytime she moves I want her to sound like talking in a deep voice.”
This led to some Twitter users sharing images of the concept art, showing a much less muscular, more worn down, and intimidating character.

Fans of The Last of Us have had very mixed opinions on the character art, with some glad that changes were made and others wishing the original concept had made it to the final game.
Several fans were disappointed that the concept art was changed.
One said: “I have never seen this, no joke, this concept art looks 10x better.”
“Oh wow we were robbed,” another commented.
However, other commenters felt that the updated art for Abby makes her more unique as she looks less like the other characters in The Last of Us.
“Glad they made the change,” one said. “This model looks like a reusable NPC or a default character you use online.”
Another user commented: “She just looks like a normal female [in the concept art]. Why are people saying she looks better.”
