The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom isn't even out yet, but by the looks of it, Nintendo has already confirmed a DLC.

Link is ready to unsheathe the Master Sword, as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is poised to slash its way onto the Nintendo Switch as one of the biggest games of 2023.

With 2017's Breath of the Wild being heralded as one of the best games of all time, there's a lot riding on Tears of the Kingdom to perform as a sequel. While the storyline is currently shrouded in mystery, it looks like a DLC is already on the way.

Is Nintendo Working On A Tears Of The Kingdom DLC?

Jeez, give us a chance to complete the base game first. Although we were all expecting a Tears of the Kingdom DLC, the official game site has pretty much confirmed at least one is on the way.

The site has a pretty obvious line that reads, "**Full version of game required to use DLC. Sold separately." There's no word on what form the DLC could take, but at the time of writing, Nintendo hasn't confirmed or denied its existence.

Remembering Breath of the Wild had two expansions, we're hoping we'll get much of the same this time around. As the Tears site uses similar language to Breath of the Wild's saying, "full version of game required to use DLC. Sold separately," that's not too much of a reach.

Back when Breath was released, there were The Master Trials and The Champions' Ballad expansions. The Master Trials added an increasingly difficult dungeon challenge and the "Master Mode" difficulty, while The Champions' Ballad added a new dungeon, story content, and (weirdly) gave Link a motorbike.

When Is Tears Of The Kingdom Releasing?

After being delayed from its original release in 2022, Tears of the Kingdom is sailing toward its May 12 release. To celebrate, there's supposedly a Tears-themed Nintendo Switch OLED to add to your collection.

Originally, there were whispers that Tears of the Kingdom would release on a mythical Nintendo Switch 2/Pro because the OG Switch wouldn't be able to handle it, but that looks like wild hearsay.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of theories that we'll get a playable Princess Zelda or a return of Skyward Sword's Fi. Fantasy games are proving all the rage, and with 2022 belonging to Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok, it looks like this year is Hogwarts Legacy and Tears of the Kingdom's for the taking.
