Call of Duty: Vanguard is here, and players have discovered an exploit for the Ninja perk that makes certain Operators completely silent during actions that should otherwise make noise.
What is The Exploit?
The Ninja perk is supposed to make characters move silently, take reduced damage when falling, and make them less visible to enemy trackers. However, some Operators are gaining an unintended advantage where they remain silent, even when vaulting and jumping over objects and cover.
Padmavati, Constanze, and Beatrice are the Operators effected by this exploit currently, giving them a stark advantage over the other characters. The perk isn't supposed to fully suppress the player character, as the rest of the Operators still grunt when falling or mantling cover.
This is hugely advantageous as the Operators no longer give valuable audio cues to enemies, letting them stealth around the map freely. It's especially useful for modes like Search & Destroy, where silent movement can easily give one team the upper-hand. Bugs and glitches are expected with any new video game, but Vanguard seems to have had its fair share so far.
What other problems has Vanguard had so far?
A few days after the launch, fans already had voiced their anger at more audio issues that were plaguing the game, which caused guns to make too little or no noise at all. PC player's ingenuity won out again, as they managed to fix the issues rather quickly before any patches were deployed by Sledgehammer officially.
Another problem, drawing ire from the community, is the bloom on some weapons, which is so extreme that player's bullets aren't going where their weapon is pointed. More confusingly, this is apparently the first title to include bloom since Black Ops 4. We're not sure why the developers decided to implement a broken system that was left out of the four previous entries, but hopefully they fix it soon.
Players are also in agreement that the current iteration of the legendary zombie's mode isn't very good, as we're still waiting for the traditional round-based mode to return. Activision also announced that the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline has been postponed, which is disappointing to fans waiting to see how the narrative pans out.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and select PC storefronts.
