When it comes to Treyarch's signature touch on the Call of Duty Zombies maps it creates, the defining figure for the community is often how the Easter egg plays out.
Maps have gone down in history for their iconic Easter egg quests, as the likes of Moon, Der Eisendrache, and Mob of the Dead have all been championed beyond the standard shooting experience.
Black Ops 6's Terminus is also looking to cement its legacy in the Zombies Easter egg hierarch, with Treyarch claiming that the upcoming map will have a "beast" of a quest - albeit not as difficult as that of Revelations.
Terminus will have a 'beast' of an Easter egg quest
Terminus has been described to be the biggest Zombies map yet in terms of sheer size, with the main island also being joined by other surrounding areas that can be accessed by boat (although the water isn't the safe haven that you might expect).
As the developers lifted the lid on some inspirations behind the design, Senior Lead Designer Anthony Saunders claimed that the map will have one of the most elaborate Easter egg quests yet, taking players all around the main prison and the surrounding treacherous Vietnamese islands.
In a recent reveal, Saunders said, "It's a beast of a main quest...It will use the ocean, it will use the islands, it'll use every part of the map, and it's one of the biggest maps yet."
Treyarch has learned from past revelations
One of the hardest Easter eggs in Zombies - so much so that it is often dubbed the worst - is that of Revelations. Back during the reign of Black Ops III, the entire community came to a half in the hunt to solve it.
One step saw players crawl through every grain of the map in search of "hidden rocks," really testing the patience of fans who enjoy puzzles rather than turning over every particle of sand in the hope of finding a pebble.
This time, despite its "beast" size, Treyarch told content creators that there won't be steps as ludicrous in difficulty as this, although the Easter egg won't be done overnight. Terminus will also have a Guided mode released at some point after players solve the Easter egg for the first time. This mode will walk us through this elaborate side mission.
