May has been a wild month for competitive Apex Legends, with REJECT WINNITY becoming the first APAC North team to win a LAN and Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen's shock exit from TSM.
His surprise departure only raised more eyebrows when it was revealed that the CEO would be joining his biggest rivals, DarkZero.
This left fans with a lot of questions, especially regarding TSM's current roster and whether Evan "Verhulst" Verhulst and Jordan "Reps" Wolfe would stay together. Verhulst took to a recent stream and provided a lot of answers, including who the potential replacement for Hal is going to be.
Verhulst and Reps are staying together on TSM
Verhulst immediately put TSM fans' minds at ease by revealing that he and Reps would be staying together on the roster to compete this year. This will be welcome news to many, who were concerned that the entire squad would be moving on after Hal's huge move.
"Me and Reps are sticking together chat, we'll be trying new thirds, you'll see who we're playing with today... we'll be successful without him [Hal] maybe even more successful, looking forward to the future with the boys."
Verhulst also explained that for the last six months on TSM, the team has been "lazy" and taking a "break" from proper practice. This is the reason he gave for their poor performances and you can tell getting a brand new third player has got both Reps and Verhulst excited for a full reset ahead of upcoming LANs.
Dezignful is trialling for the position of TSM's IGL
Stepping into the shoes of ImperialHal is no easy task and as a result, there are not too many candidates who even have the CV to apply for the job.
Reps and Verhulst have also made it very clear that MnK competitors are off the table, so that writes off a huge amount of names in pro play.
The number one candidate at the moment appears to be Tyler "Dezignful" Gardner, who has been trialling with Reps and Verhulst in scrims over the last few days. Formerly part of Disguised, Dezignful would take up the reigns as the IGL if he was chosen for the position.
Nothing is determined at the moment, but Verhulst does make it clear that picking up Dezignful would open up the opportunity for TSM to drop at Thermal and Northpad POIs. That's a huge bonus, given the fact that other locations would mean contesting other squads after drop.
