The June 27 patch for VALORANT is finally here, and fans couldn't be happier to see new content arrive in the game for Episode 7. The tactical shooter has perhaps one of the most dedicated fan bases out there (and miraculously, they're not predominantly toxic).

Although a new Counter-Strike game is peeking around the corner, VALORANT's abilities, art style, and consistent updates keep players engaged. It looks as though fans who main characters with decay effects are about to be even happier when getting involved with VALORANT Episode 7.

It's par for the course that big updates for any live service game come packaged with a few bugs, but an absolute whopper has touched down in VALORANT - helping to make certain characters massively overpowered.

Some strange decay-themed deaths have been documented on the game's Reddit page, which reveals that a new bug is ensuring that decay effects cling to players even after they've left their area of effect. Some are worryingly taking damage constantly until they perish.

It's not a good look for VALORANT's balance, but equally, it's definitely good news for those who play Viper or Fade because their abilities just got a whole lot tougher. It's seemingly entirely by accident, but if you run into a Viper Wall, Orb, and Ultimate, or come across Fade, you'd better watch out.

When will VALORANT fix the decay bug?

Given that a huge part of VALORANT's draw is its balancing, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Riot Games immediately jump onto a fix for the VALORANT Episode 7 decay bug. Then again, it's the start of the season, and things are pretty busy right now with audio bugs and the like.

As players know the Episode 7 decay bug is running rife, they'll be taking advantage of it for as long as they can. Until VALORANT can get patched up, expect your enemy teams to have a Viper and a Fade at all times. It's about to get very green on the battlefield.
