Pocket Pair is digging deep in its 'pockets,' hoping to get Palworld firing on all cylinders. The open-world monster catcher has been grabbing headlines since it entered early access in January 2024, although that's mainly due to accusations of it being a Pokemon rip-off.
While we've seen player numbers dip, it's only natural until the devs make moves on their promised roadmap of new features like PvP and new islands to explore. The team is hot on the updates, but while the latest has fixed over 35 problems, it's also added a pretty major one.
Palworld update makes Pals lazy
Part of Palworld is recruiting a loyal army of those little critters, churning out materials to help you grow your base. It's a little like slavery, but that's a conversation for another day. While we'd be on strike by now if we were Pals, the latest update has apparently made them lazier than ever. There's a mutiny coming.
YouTuber Witty refers to this "game-breaking bug," which is all to do with the new Relax setting. Relax has been added to monitoring posts, deciding how fast your Pals should be working but also allowing for a lower level of output to save their hunger and SAN stats.
Apparently, the patch has made it so that all monitoring posts are set to Relax as default. This is even affecting monitoring posts built before the update, so basically, everyone is a little sluggish in Palworld right now. There is a fix, but you'll have to manually adjust all the settings on every monitoring post around your base.
Palworld update makes Fire Pals kill you
If a lazy workforce wasn't enough of a headache, how about having your player burned alive? Others have pointed out that the Patch v0.1.5.0 has made Fire Pals lethal. Redditor u/skewtr reveals how Fire Pals will now kill you if you don't have enough Heat resistance.
This is because heat sources now stack, meaning an accidental BBQ could be on the menu - with you as the main course. Having campfires and Fire Pals in your base is a recipe for disaster, so coolers are a must-have. Others aren't too bothered, praising Palword for being "scientifically accurate."
Pocket Pair is sure to address these issues in upcoming updates or patches, but for now, be warned. Although we can't moan that Palworld isn't being proactive with its updates, it would be nice if our Pals were as productive.
