It's true that VALORANT and Counter-Strike are like no other shooters in that they are completely counterintuitive to those Gung-ho competitors that bleed from PC gaming to consoles.
The mechs have always leaned into stopping movement to fire, managing rough recoil patterns, and wild inaccuracy if strafing isn't perfected. So why on does VALORANT have one Sonic the Hedgehog-looking character darting around and zapping players to oblivion with perfect aim? Well, players want her gone.
VALORANT players call for the end of the Neon era
Neon has been a problem in VALORANT for weeks now, but as players begin to master her kit and time the abilities properly, she's becoming a bit out of hand.
Taking to Reddit, one popular post quizzed "How is this even allowed in a slow paced tac fps?" followed by a montage of an enemy Neon rushing around, knee sliding and dashing with perfect one-taps like this is some kind of arcade shooter.
"I still don't get what is the purpose of having this in a game where characters are meant to move slowly and punish when u are shooting without standing still," the poster continued.
How is this even allowed in a slow paced tac fps... this is an immortal lobby.

Of course, this one annoyed Immortal-level player wasn't alone in their complaints.m"Because this is valorant and instead of making bhopping an actual mechanic here's sonic the hedgehog," said one fan.
Another added, "Neon is f**king busted and anybody who says otherwise is coping. Neon is an Apex Legends character in Valorant and needs to be nerfed." But if you're in the camp of wanting her nerfed, there might be a lot more protesting to be done.
As one fan pointed out, it took three years for Riot to nerf Raze's double satchel abilities, and they've only just made Neon stronger, leaving a quick nerf rather unlikely.
There is something off about Neon's kit, especially her dash (slide), which remains incredibly accurate even outside of her Ult. Maybe a hard nerf to her rifling while running would be a good balance - she can keep that accuracy up-close for a Bucky play, making her powerful still, but just not at such wild ranges with a Vandal headshot.
