VALORANT’s best melee weapon is only available in China

A new knife for VALORANT has leaked, and it's a real beauty - but there's some bad news for most of the world.

VALORANT is packed with intriguing weapons, and though much of the excitement around them comes from the skins that your teammates are using, they certainly get the job done nicely - and they're certainly better than the game's knife in most cases.

The game's melee weapon isn't particularly exciting, and though it might add some cosmetic flair with new items every once in a while, VALORANT hasn't been particularly keen for players to go in melee-first.

But that might be about to change with an incredible new knife - that is, if you live in China.

VALORANT's coolest knife is China-exclusive

A brand new knife is set to drop in VALORANT soon, but there's a catch - unless you live in China, you won't be able to access it.

The Kitana knife is a flashy one with two different colourways that sees animations open the knife up to reveal a fan, in pretty splendid fashion.

A new video shared by RevenValorant has revealed just how stunning the knife is, in both red-gold and violet, but the news that players won't be able to unlock it without living in China is pretty depressing.

It's an exclusive item to China to celebrate the country finally getting its own version of the game on PC, and though it's bound to be a nice touch for new players and those who don't know much about it, it's the dedicated fans clamouring for it.

When is VALORANT coming out in China?

VALORANT is finally launching in China on July 12, 2023, meaning that if you live in the region, you'll be able to bag the fan for yourself. For everyone else, unfortunately, it simply isn't meant to be.

Maybe Riot Games could bring the knife to the people in the future, but for now, it looks like it's going to be region-locked. You're going to have to make do.
