We've all faced a hacker in Warzone, and at this point, it's inevitable. Whether it's a blatant aimbot issue with a player spinning around and firing bullets across the map or the invisibility cheat of old Verdansk, the likelihood is that RICOCHET has let a player through the net, into your lobby, and onto your killcam.
But we've also probably been killed by a "hacker" who wasn't actually cheating, and we've reported them anyway. Players sometimes get lucky, or intuition allows for out-plays.
One Warzone streamer has gone viral for proving that not everyone who is better than you is hacking, as there are multiple features in Warzone that help you get the better of your enemy without relying on just gun skills.
Warzone streamer educates raging player about not hacking
Warzone streamer "Expel" has gone viral for a clip of him "hacking" - moreso being accused of using cheats by an enemy who was shot through a boarded-up window.
"Why have you got to be a hacking piece of s**t?" said the downed enemy. However, the accused player wasn't cheating at all, and instead of finishing off his enemy to carry on, Expel decided to educate them through proximity chat.
Allowing the player to self-revive, Expel revealed that he was using Combat Scout, which pings enemies through the wall. Once he landed the first shot (he knew the player's rough location through a Heartbeat sensor scan), meaning he could be precise through the wall.
Still, the enemy couldn't fathom that the streamer knew his original position before using the Combat Scout perk and was left red-faced as Expel dropped his sensor on the floor. A rather explicit phrase of regret followed.
The moral of the story is that Warzone has wallhack-esque perks, and there are multiple ways that players can understand the location of their enemies through opaque objects. It might be worth checking the killcams more closely before we send off hackusations in the future.
