While most of the Warzone 2 community is always looking to improve their aim, movement, and loadouts, very few take the time to work on their 1v1 skills.
This is a huge mistake as the Gulag is one of the most important aspects of Warzone 2 and can result in you coming back from the brink to clutch a match.
However, a lot of CoD fans dread going into the Gulag as the duel never seems to go their way, resulting in them being instantly eliminated.
Well, Warzone 2 expert IceManIsaac has highlighted a set of 'secret tips' to take your Gulag skills to the next level.
How to win Gulag every time in Warzone 2
For starters, Isaac recommends that you fake the direction you are heading at the start of a Gulag. As your opponent can see your silhouette during the countdown, it's key you face the opposite direction to where you plan on going. This will usually confuse your opponent and cause them to pre-aim in the wrong area.
Next, it's key you always have your pistol out while at the beginning of a match as it increases your movement speed. This can give you a better chance of getting to a power position and outmanoeuvring your opponent.
If you start on A-side, Isaac advises that you never take the stairs and instead push around the right-hand side of the map. As for the B-side, the default option is to utilise the head glitch on the stacked-up crates that the expert demonstrates in his video. However, there's also a great spot on the blue container located on the right-hand side of the map.
Finally, only take up a position on the flag first if you have major health or positioning advantage as you give up your location and make it easy for your foe to kill you.
Advanced Gulag tips in Warzone 2
To round off, Isaac shared a few advanced tips that can really come up clutch during intense Gulags. The first one revolves around how to play when you get hit with a Snapshot grenade. Instead of standing still or panicking, the guru suggests you play aggressively as very few opponents will expect you to push after being hit with a snapshot.
Next, don't forget to use drop shots to your advantage and if you're stuck on the flag waiting for an opponent, pre-firing a corner will negate their peaker's advantage.
Also, as simple as it sounds, always look for headshots as they can be a huge difference-maker in 1v1 gunfights.
