Warzone 2 has a lot of hype to contend with. Naturally, Warzone is a mess that players love to endure, and then, moan about afterwards on Reddit. Infinity Ward suddenly has a lot of pressure to deal with in the development of the highly anticipated sequel.
Glitch and hack fixes aside, the battle royale game is going to have to be as compelling as Verdansk and then some, with some better gunplay and movement too. It's a lot, and nerves are high that they won't make it work. But, a new leak seems to suggest that Warzone 2 is going to be leaning on the Call of Duty franchise past for its influence.
What Does The Warzone 2 Leak Reveal?
A new Warzone 2 leak was reported by NerosCinema and corroborated by Tom Henderson, hinting that the upcoming Warzone 2 could be taking a lot of influence from the franchise's first attempt at the battle royale - Black Ops 4's Blackout mode.
In a new video posted to his YouTube channel, NerosCinema says that a man who claimed to have played the game early suggested to him that Loadouts will be locked behind "Strongholds". These will dish out goodies to players after you've completed challenges like defusing bombs and killing AI.
It's no secret that Black Ops 4 wasn't exactly a hit when Treyarch parachuted into action in 2018. Ditching the standard single-player experience for a wholly multiplayer affair, Black Ops 4 tried to cash in on the boom in battle royales. Sadly, this pre-Warzone tester didn't hit a chord with players.
Is Warzone 2 Getting A Bag System?
The Warzone 2 leaks don't end there though. According to NerosCinema, the title is getting a backpack system similar to that of Blackout and PUBG - allowing players to carry around more kit while having to make big sacrifices about what it is they want to take across the battlefield.
The video shares a lot of insight as to what could be on the way to Warzone 2, and though it's worth taking with a pinch of salt, it sounds like it could make for a fascinating game. Or even, it could be better than the Warzone we have now. We can only hope it's taking the best bits of Black Ops 4 and not what made it a bit of a dud.
