While Call of Duty remains one of the most popular and successful gaming franchises on the planet, Warzone 2 hasn't received the most positive fanfare.

As problems continue, it turns out many players are uninstalling the battle royale favourite due to burnout. Just weeks after launch, jokes about "Crash of Duty" are becoming commonplace for a struggling Call of Duty franchise.

What's Wrong With Warzone 2?

Warzone 2 is currently in the middle of its first season after launching on November 16 - introducing players to the redesigned battle royale and massive Al Mazrah map.

Just under a month on, responses to the new game seem to be quite mixed, with some praising its improvements and changes from the first game, while others are already hating it for various reasons.

For one, PC players still seem to have the short end of the stick. Steam reviews currently stand at mostly negative, with only 35% of them recommending the game in its current state. Lots is due to the terrible performance and optimisation on the platform, with many suffering from frequent crashes, stuttering, and a range of other performance problems.

Others have also lambasted the core of the gameplay, with a reddit user u/GreasyMustardTiger_ posting about the problems on r/CODWarzone in a lengthy critique. They branded Warzone 2 a "I saw you first, so I win the fight simulator."

They continued on, highlighting the main problem so far being that "you genuinely do not have time to turn and challenge someone in this game."

Can The Problems With Warzone 2 Be Fixed?

While the Steam reviews and u/GreasyMustardTiger_ do point out some of the main problems with the game so far, are these issues that can be fixed? While salvaging the Steam review score may be difficult at this point, a lot of the performance problems are fixable if Activision commits the time and resources towards better optimisation for PC.

For the gameplay problems, these are more complicated, and some of the complaints, such as fast time-to-kill (TTK) and the map's openness, may require a much larger overhaul.

On the plis side, Activision is set to include a smaller map during early 2023, so players looking for a faster-paced experience with fewer worries about getting flanked have something to look forward to.
