Learning how to track an opponent's movements with your aim and land every shot on target is one of the hardest skills to learn in Warzone 2.
It takes countless hours of practice and the correct weapon choice for a lot of players, but some of the community believes it's harder to see foes when shooting than ever before.
For them, the 'atrocious' visibility in Warzone 2 means a lot of the time, an opponent will disappear in the fog, barrel smoke, and visual recoil that's become the norm on Vondel and Al Mazrah.
Warzone 2 players claim 'atrocious' visibility is worse than WZ1
Why's visibility so BAD in WZ2 while getting shot at? A small comparison video between WZ1 and WZ2. The downgrade is surreal. WZ1 was atrocious, but WZ2 truly takes it to an entirely new low.

Taking to the CODWarzone subreddit, user u/tearsofthekingodm decided to post a clip showing the visibility difference between the original Warzone and WZ2. In their opinion, there's been a significant 'downgrade' between the two titles and Warzone 2, saying "truly takes it to an entirely new low."
As you would expect, this sparked a response from the community, with one user agreeing, "Muzzle smoke in this game is egregious... That along with the fog on Vondel I’m just shooting at pings or hit markers half the time."
While the fog on Vondel was meant to be immersive and an exciting new feature, most players in the thread just find it 'annoying' because it's frustrating "not being able to see people to shoot at."
Overall, it's clear the CoD community wants the devs to improve visibility as they believe it's one of the "numerous things that hold this game back from being incredible."
How can poor visibility be fixed in Warzone 2?
While features like fog, gun smoke, and visual recoil all add to the realism and the immersive experience for CoD players, it shouldn't come at the cost of fun.
According to other users in the thread, "realism is not a true concern" for the majority of WZ2 fans, so a solid solution would just be to tone down these parts of the game.
A reduction in barrel smoke would certainly help players when ADSing and tracking an opponent attempting to escape. Ultimately, that decision will come down to the devs. With MW3 expected in November, it's unlikely any drastic QOL changes will be coming to MW2 before then.
