It took months of campaigning and whinging for Call of Duty players to finally convince Raven Software to make one-shot snipers return to Warzone, having once been a staple of the game mode during the Verdansk era.
But after landing in Al Mazrah, players have grown to realise that they were wrong - one-shot snipers are a detriment to the new iteration of Warzone, especially in Ranked.
So in typical CoD community fashion, a barrage of comments arrived on social media to remove the once-campaigned-for explosive sniper rounds from Warzone Ranked, and it hasn't taken long for the developers to dutifully oblige.
Warzone pros claim one-shot snipers and dragon-breath shotguns "kills" Ranked
So far in Season 4, the popularity of the one-shot snipers has soared, with players figuring out that they can easily camp buildings with the explosive rounds and then defend the entrances with duf-duf shotguns - making for one of the most boring metas yet.
With this, streamers and pro players alike have all begun to complain, and one, in particular, has claimed that the two gun classes are "killing" Warzone Ranked.
"One-shot sniper/fire shotty meta is killing ranked play right now," Ethan "Fifakill" Pink said on Twitter. An abundance of other players has also echoed this sentiment, with nearly every player in the lobby running the combination.
Warzone Ranked removes explosive snipers and fire shotguns
Taking to social media, Treyarch confirmed that the two weapon designs will be restricted in players' loadouts now, and will have an update going live soon to remove these from ground loot too.
With the changes, a wealth of streamers like Aydan "Aydan" Conrad, Tyler "TeeP" Polchow, and Isaac "IceManIsaac" Hamilton have hailed Treyarch for their actions.
This will likely now force players to pull out an assault rifle and begin to be more active, getting your step-counter up instead of roasting smores on building rooftops.
