Typically in Warzone, the calls for nerfs are usually targeted at overpowered weapons that are dominating the meta.
However, there's a piece of equipment that's been under the spotlight for a while as potentially too strong and "cheesy."
We're obviously talking about the Throwing Knife, a tool that's commonly used for one-shotting downed enemies so you don't have to waste any bullets.
While the community were asking for a nerf to the iconic Lethal, very few players expected the devs to deliver, but they've done exactly that in Season 2 Reloaded.
Warzone devs nerf Throwing Knives in Season 2 Reloaded
As showcased by the popular Call of Duty account ModernWarzone, the latest patch rolled out a Throwing Knives nerf.
For starters, the knife's base damage has been reduced from 200 to 175, meaning it will not be one-shotting foes as often anymore. This was the biggest problem for many fans, who were confused as to why a knife was capable of dealing more damage than bullets.
It's worth noting that Throwing Knives will still one-shot if you can land an impact on the enemy's head, so there's still the potential to get deleted by the Lethal in Battle Royale.
Not only that, the days of insta-killing downed enemies with Throwing Knives are not over, as they will still wipe out anyone on the ground.
CoD fans praise nerf for fixing "overpowered" Throwing Knives
On the whole, the reaction to the Throwing Knives nerf has been immensely positive, with fans over the moon that the "cheesy" Lethal has finally been adjusted.
"BIG W HONESTLY! I still can't wrap my head around the knife being one shot but the RPG is not," said one user, with another claiming "Fixing overpowered things in the game is a huge win, it always will be."
This has been a heavily requested change for a long time, so it's nice to see the devs listening to the community. With that rolled out, at least you don't have to worry about getting deleted by a rogue blade flying through the air.
