If you've been playing Warzone in Season 3, then you know one weapon is utterly dominating the close-range meta. Not an SMG or even a shotgun, but a Pistol in the form of the Renetti - boasting a TTK is absolutely absurd.
Currently, the pint-sized gun is sitting as the most popular weapon in the game, and it's dwarfing the entire Submachine Gun category.
Well, Renetti's reign over the patch may be set to end very soon, as Raven Software has confirmed nerfs are on the way. The problem is, no one actually knows when they'll arrive.
Raven Software reveal Renetti nerfs are coming in Warzone
Â
Warzone's April 9 patch was rolled out, and to the surprise of nearly everyone in the community, the Renetti managed to escape any nerfs.
As you would expect, this led to widespread backlash on social media, with fans confused as to why the OP Pistol was left untouched.
To clarify the situation, Raven Software took to X to reveal that it is "working on adjustments to the Renetti which will be released in the near future."
While good news and met with praise by some, others are a little confused as to why the nerfs are not being implemented immediately.
Warzone fans furious Renetti changes are not being added immediately
The Renetti's presence in battle royale at the moment is making Warzone "unplayable" in the eyes of certain competitors, so hearing that Raven is taking its time with the nerf has sparked a lot of anger.
Countless players have called on the devs to simply lower the damage numbers, as at the moment, it's the only close-range weapon being utilised on Rebirth Island and Urzikstan.
"We understand, but is it really that hard to change the base damage amount per bullet down 2 or 3 points," said one user, with another arguing, "IN THE NEAR FUTURE?! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?! CMONNN."
These emergency balance patches typically don't take too long to arrive, but every minute the Renetti remains OP, the more frustrated the fanbase becomes. Fingers crossed that the update is just around the corner - it should be enough to bring SMGs back into the fold.
