Critics of Warzone 2 will claim that the sequel hasn't lived up to its expectations because it's too similar to the original. Others will claim that its likeness to the original is the only thing stopping it from failing.
The main difference between the original and the sequel is the AI elements that swarm around Strongholds and Black Sites, and the wedge is now driving both parties apart.
After recent balances came to Warzone 2, players are now caught up in a debate as to whether Strongholds are good or not, and it appears that the majority of big-time streamers want them removed entirely.
Streamers Want Warzone 2 Strongholds Removed
Recent adjustments to Warzone 2 saw weapon prices slashed at buy stations, allowing players to get the guns that they want for half the price. However, Strongholds remain as the only way for Warzone players to get their perks until the communal drops fall.
This awkwardly makes Strongholds essential to complete. But with how many teams are forced to collate at the three strongholds, completing them is proving to be less beneficial than they're supposed to be, and the unbalanced AI is also proving to be an issue.
Streamers are now fed up with facing waves of AI every game. Not everyone is against them, such as Mason "Symfuhny" Lanier, who claimed that they are "actually nice and add to the gameplay."
Most agreed though. Timothy "TimTheTatman" Betar agreed that they are "ass", Kris "Swagg" Lamberson pledged the original post was "spitting" facts, and FaZe Clan's Kakhi "Testy" claimed that they will never be removed because it "makes bots feel better about themselves".
CourageJD Claims Stronghold AI Need Balancing
On a diplomatic note, Jack "Courage" Dunlop argued that there could be a nice fix, and that means just balancing the AI's temperament, whether that be cranking them all up to the max or whittling them down to basic shooters - as long as they're all the same.
"I really don’t mind them. I just dislike how it's a never-ending swarm and it feels like the bots are a coin flip. Either the worst ever or the reincarnation of Scump," he said on Twitter.
There have also been calls for more strongholds to be added too, which would further counteract third parties at these Warzone 2 POIs. However, most want them gone entirely and think it's the best for everyone.
