Modern Warfare 3 is taking up most of the limelight in the CoD community right now, with the beta beginning on October 6.
However, there's still a bright future for Warzone fans. According to leaks, the new Las Almas map is scheduled to arrive with MW3 Season 1 in December.
The new MW3 trailer may have focused on multiplayer, but it did give battle royale fans a glimpse of the new Verdansk-style map.
The reaction to the location has been overwhelmingly positive, with players praising the "magnificent" map and arguing it looks "so much better" than Al Mazrah.
Warzone fans are excited for ‘magnificent’ new map
As showcased by popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL, the MW3 trailer gave battle royale fans a glimpse at the new Warzone map.
The location shares an uncanny resemblance with the iconic Verdansk and has successfully got the community hyped for its release. "My heart is filled with joy man…. Even if this isn’t Verdansk, it’s close enough," said one user, with another claiming it "looks magnificent."
It's clear CoD fans are impressed with the "WZ1 vibes" that the location is giving off and the fact that the map is extremely different to Al Mazrah. With the CoD NEXT event coming on October 5, let's just keep our fingers crossed the devs have more details about Warzone's new map and some of the fresh POIs.
Warzone players want Rebirth Island to return in MW3's cycle
While the tweet was strictly focused on Warzone's upcoming new map, it hasn't stopped players from demanding that Activision bring back a fan-favourite location from WZ1.
It's well-known that Verdansk isn't coming back anytime soon, but players are still hopeful that Rebirth Island will make a return.
The immensely popular smaller map never failed to deliver action-packed matches, and players are pouring "Hope into a Rebirth 2.0" remake.
If Activision wants to please the playerbase and take the excitement to a new level, a Rebirth return would be the perfect next step after the new Warzone map in December.
