Warzone goes full Apex mode in Season 6 with Octane boost pads

While it started off as quite a fierce rivalry, the different branches of the battle royale genre are now all a bit too chummy-chummy, like a rabble of old enemies sitting in a retirement home having a squabble over a game of Scrabble.
The eldest pair, Fortnite and PUBG, sit at opposite ends, one being a wise old master, while another still plays the pull my finger joke pretending to be a kid again.
But Warzone and Apex Legends share the middle, swapping letters under the table. The pair have shared more BR features than you can imagine, almost becoming unrecognisable, and Warzone's latest season has continued this trend by nabbing Octane's boost pads.
Warzone Purgatory mode steals Apex Legends' boost pads
Warzone has taken a lot of inspiration from Apex Legends. Ziplines and Balloons. Circle-defending shields like PDS systems. Much more. So why not another?
With Season 6 rolling out The Haunting's new game mode Purgatory, Warzone has now nabbed Apex Legends' boost pads right out of Octane's back pocket.
The Rebirth Island Halloween mode has seen the prison get a hellish gloss with a range of boost pads on the floor that will ping you from one POI to the next.
With the boost pads doing the rounds on social media, players quickly noticed the likeness, saying "Oh look, Apex!" and "What's up Apex."
"Imagine stealing from Apex that’s cringe," a third fan said.
The Purgatory mode is only an LTM designed to be on Rebirth Island - given that Urzikstan has been left out in the cold - but that hasn't stopped players from enjoying everything that this Apex-like feature has to offer in Warzone.
Already, clips have surfaced of players bouncing through the skies with the Katniss Everdeen bow, and it's only a matter of time before we see some sick 360 no-scopes with a rocket-firing sniper.
