Aim Assist. It’s a controller player’s clutch and a keyboard’s worst enemy. But there’s a new challenger in town - the good old finger.

As fears grow that Warzone Mobile has a serious finger vs pad plug-in issue, Aim Assist is here to prove everyone’s fears might be a painful reality.

Warzone Mobile cranks up Aim Assist for controllers

Already in the console variant of Warzone, the battle royale’s scales are tipped in favour of controller players thanks to the unrelenting aim assist, and the same appears to be the case for Warzone Mobile.

As showcased by BobbyPlays with the footage below, controller inputs appear to have a much stronger level of aim assist in Warzone Mobile in comparison to those players who will be thumbing their screens.

The leaked footage has directly compared both inputs in an almost identical strafing pattern, which shows the controller user getting much stickier aim, undoubtedly calving open a huge gulf in difficulty for anyone wanting to get hands-on (literally).

Is Warzone Mobile gatekeeping with controller-heavy Aim Assist?

Much akin to a keyboard and mouse, finger-touch controls might have a slight edge over controllers, at the highest level of gameplay, in terms of movement, but for a shooting game, the chasm of help for anyone with analog sticks on Warzone Mobile might be enough to force players into buying a mobile controller.

Already, Warzone is advertising a $100 partner controller with Backbone, which could indicate why Aim Assist is being cranked up, rather than the free-to-access fingers and toes touch controls.

So, if you are looking forward to dropping back into Verdansk with Warzone Mobile, you might want to lock in your controller early, otherwise you might well be shooting walls over players, and earning a semi-permanent residency in the Gulag.
