Since the golden era of Verdansk back in 2020, Warzone's Gulag has been an iconic part of the battle royale experience.

Offering competitors a second chance with an intense 1v1 skirmish to the death in an enclosed arena - the stakes are truly at their peak. One version of the Gulag has been notoriously hated by fans since its release, and that's when the devs decided to switch the lights off.

The night vision Gulag has never been popular, with players flaming the lasers and low visibility. Well, now the experience is finally gone for good.

Warzone March 19 patch disables Night Vision Gulag

As showcased by popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL, the March 19 patch notes brought some exciting news for those who dislike the night vision Gulag. Alongside minor adjustments to the RAM-9 and HRM-9 SMGs, the night vision Gulag has been completely removed from the game.

Not only that, laser attachments have been removed and replaced in Gulag loadouts, so no more giving your position away with an annoying light beam.

While not a major balance fix, this change has been a long time coming and for a lot of Warzone players, it's going to significantly enhance the Gulag experience.

Warzone fans celebrate "stupid" Night-time Gulag is finally gone

Night Vision Gulag

The Warzone community was quick to celebrate the dev's decision to scrap the night vision Gulag, claiming it's always been "stupid" and makes the 1v1s frustrating in most cases.

Not only that, lasers meant that hiding your position was virtually impossible, a strategy that a lot of players like to use.

"Finally, whoever thought lasers and night Gulags were necessary needs to learn to use their headphones," said one user, with another claiming, "Gulag with lasers... Just another on a long list of stupid decisions to make the game unenjoyable."

So, the next time you get eliminated from BR, at least you won't have to worry about switching on your night vision goggles. Based on the feedback, we don't expect this feature will be coming back anytime soon.
