Warzone Players Demand ‘Streamer Mode’ Following Stream Sniping Increase

Some professional Call of Duty players are calling for a new and improved Streamer Mode in Warzone, as they feel that the current one is "not good enough". Which, to be fair, is a good point.

100 Thieves' Thomas "Tommey" Trewren took to Twitter to share his frustration with the current setup, showing footage of other players figuring out a) who he was and b) where he was, in order to stream snipe.

What is the current Warzone Streamer Mode?

Well, that's the problem. The current mode isn't fit for purpose as you can't actually hide your name. So everyone knows if you're a popular streamer, hence you almost literally have a target on your back. What is does enable is the ability to hide/change the names of all the other players, so if you're streaming people won't be able to search the names of those you're playing with. Some people argue that this is a good thing as any stream snipers won't be able to use your name for clout - which is kind of true? However, they have their own gameplay footage that can be shared, with the streamer's name on. So it is very backwards.

Who else wants a new and improved Streamer Mode?

Other streamers such as Newbz and Jukeyz replied to the Tweet, supporting Tommey with his comments.

Who stream sniped Tommey?

The sad thing is, it was a 13-year-old kid who was reportedly playing alongside his dad. After the match, he reached out to Tommey and apologised, claiming that he didn't want to be dropped from the team, so just did what they said.

What happened after the incident?

Tommey took to Twitter to plead to the devs directly, saying: "They’re in our streams calling our locations and hard playing for us as Warzone has no actual working streamer mode. Please can we have a working streamer mode in Warzone?"

He later added: "The current one that’s been in since the beginning does not work properly. It changes everyone else’s name and not your own, which defeats the point of the feature in the first place. I’d rather die to a hacker than having Jimmy and his cousins chasing me around the map."

The devs have yet to respond.
